(NECN) - It's the second biggest jackpot every, with $550 million up for grabs in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing.

Just about everyone is trying to get in on the action, and Mass. State Lottery Executive Director Paul Sternberg dropped by NECN Business to talk about the Powerball drawing.

"In Massachusetts, so far today we've sold $1.4 million [worth of tickets]," Sternberg said. "Since Sunday, we've sold approximately $18.2 million in sales, and overall, since the draw started, the 15 draws before that we sold $20 million, which started on Oct. 3."
