(NECN) – Stephen C. Savage, chief of police at the Plaistow Police Department, addressed the media in a press conference Thursday at 2 p.m., concerning the arrest of fugitive New Hampshire couple Jessica Linscott and Roland Dow.

Savage said he’s glad and happy to be at this juncture but the investigation will continue.

The Chief thanked the Plaistow units involved in this case for their exemplary work.

He publicly recognized those who contributed to the arrest of Jessica Linscott and Roland Dow, stating it was not just a local effort.

Savage also expressed his gratitude to the general public for the tremendous amount of tips that were sent in.

The Chief asked everyone to pause for a moment to think of James, who remains in serious condition.

“He’s the only hero here,” the Chief said. “It’s not me, it’s not you and it’s not these guys.”

Savage ended his comments asking that when parents return to their home tonight, they give their children hugs and kisses during this special time of year.
