In a horrifying child abuse case, two Texas Parents were arrested, accused of using shock collars on their girls and forcing them to brush their teeth with cat feces, WOAI reports.

The San Antonio couple, 32-year-old James Chalkley and 22-year-old Cheyanne Chalkley, were detained by police Tuesday, authorities said.

The father and stepmother were accused of abusing their 5-year-old and 10-year-old daughters by spanking them with a thorny switch, making them brush their teeth with cat feces, and force them to wear a dog shock collar, according to arrest warrants.

The younger of the siblings told police that her father would brush her teeth so hard that her mouth would bleed in addition to putting "poop on her toothbrush."

"I've been a police officer for the better of 25 years," Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar told WOAI. "Just when you think nothing shocks you anymore, nothing surprises you, nothing disturbs you, a case will come across your desk like this one."
