BOSTON (AP) - A Boston man has been arrested in the slaying of a woman who had traveled from the Dominican Republic to seek medical care for her year-old son.

Rosanna Camilo, 34, was found dead with a power cord wrapped around her neck in her apartment Nov. 21. Police said her 16-year-old daughter found the body when she returned home from school. Camilo's baby son was in the apartment but was not harmed.

Police said 27-year-old Eldrick Broom was arrested Thursday night and faced arraignment on a murder charge Friday.

Investigators said Broom had access to Camilo's apartment building through a former resident he knew. It's not immediately known if Broom has an attorney.

Camilo had three children. She was the daughter of Ruben Camilo, a radio personality and government official in the Dominican Republic.
