Man's body found on shoreline in East Providence

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — East Providence police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found washed up on the shoreline by a person walking along the East Bay Bike Path.

Police told The Providence Journal ( ) that the walker found the man's body at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday near the Squantum Association. The medical examiner's office will be performing an autopsy and trying to identify the man.

Lt. Raymond Blinn says the body appeared to have been in the water for some time. He says there were no obvious signs of what happened to the man.
