(NECN: Cambridge, Mass.) - A tweet sent out from the Harvard University Twitter account (@Harvard) says there are unconfirmed reports of explosives at four sites on campus: Science Center, Thayer, Sever and Emerson.

HUPD and CPD are on the scene investigating.

These reports are unconfirmed. There have been no reports of explosions.

Access to Harvard Yard has been restricted to Yard residents with Harvard IDs.

Senior Jacob Swartz joined us over the phone to discuss the impact.

He said that especially after Boston Marathon bombings, the threat is being taken seriously and is on everyone’s mind.

He said, “I think everyone was a little frustrated to start to leave, but once we found out there was something going on I think everyone was remaining calm.”

He added, “It’s always scary when something like this happens. You wouldn’t expect it to happen, to be in that exam and then have to leave.”

Swartz said Harvard officials are doing the best they can and remaining vigilant before passing information along.
