Kate Middleton attends UK awards show

LONDON (AP) — For the first time since she was hospitalized for severe morning sickness, the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge has appeared in public.

The former Kate Middleton looked healthy and strong as she presented awards Sunday night at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards.

She hadn't been seen in public since she left a hospital in London ten days earlier. At the time, officials said the duchess would be resting.

Palace officials have said the Duchess is in the first 12 weeks of her pregnancy. It will be the first child for her and her husband, Prince William.

She and the prince have said they were deeply saddened by the death of a nurse at the hospital who was a victim of a prank call by two DJs from an Australian radio show.
