Data on at least 25,000 government workers was compromised by a recent hack on the computer systems of a company that performs background checks for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Reuters and The Associated Press reported. Officials say the estimated number of employees affected by the hack may rise. The company that was hacked said the breach had "all the markings of a state sponsored attack."
