(NECN: Lauren Collins, Manchester, NH) – We have a check of the conditions outside in Manchester, N.H.

Lauren Collins says it’s been mostly snow since it started snowing late Wednesday night. She says there’s a good five to six inches as the snow is piling up.

Collins says there has been a transition from snow to ice to rain.

It’s also pretty windy, and upwards of 8,000 customers along the seacoast are without power.

The wind will complicate things in the morning hours.

Driving is a big complication, with a lot of snow-covered secondary roads and ice elsewhere.

If you’re going to be on the road, be patient. And if you don’t have to go out, don’t.

**Gov. Paul LePage has closed all state government offices in Maine because of the nasty weather.

**Also, in Massachusetts, NStar is reporting 3,857 customers without power and National Grid is reporting 3,131 customers without power as of 5:30 a.m.

You can view NStar's outage map here.
