(NECN) -  If you plan on ringing in the new year in Boston, but haven't thought of a way to get home, fear not, because the MBTA has a free option for you.
All rides will be free after 8:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, while services will be boosted on subway and commuter rail lines to accommodate those celebrating at First Night.
On New Year's Eve, the MBTA's green, red, orange, and blue lines will operate on modified weekday schedules.
Starting Friday, some parking bans take effect.
Those streets will be marked with signs.
