(NECN) - Christmas may be over, but the spirit of giving is still alive in Newington, Conn., as more than 700 customers have taken part in a "pay it forward" campaign at the Starbucks there.

Since the day before Christmas, customers rolling through the drive-thru with cash in hand, have been finding out the person ahead of them in line had bought their coffee.

This random act of kindness started when one customer unexpectedly paid for the next person in line. It just snowballed from there.

At last check, 765 customers had participated in the campaign.
