| December 4, 2008 Little piano man to perform at White House
|
(Katie Daly, NECN: Paxton, MA) - A local youngster is going to the White House. He has a special talent and one of those watching could be the President.
Inside this music studio in Paxton, Massachusetts...its beginning to sound a lot like Christmas.
That's because thirteen year old Mackenzie Meleed is practicing for what will be his 5th performance at the White House.
The holiday performance is an annual event at the White House. Guests receive an invitation from the President. For McKenzie playing in front of such a distinguished audience is old hat.
McKenzie first played at the white house when he was 8-years-old. He was invited after the first President Bush heard him play at Park Plaza in Boston in 2004.
McKenzie has played the piano since he was four years old. He has won numerous honors including Worcester’s music guild award. But the eighth grader admits it takes some practice.
His future dreams go beyond playing at the White House...someday he would like to perform on a global tour.
