(NECN) - You might call it a tall task for the experts at the Tufts University veterinary school this week.
The Cummings School's Large Animal Center is caring for one very special patient -- a newborn giraffe named Molly.
Born on Monday, zookeepers noticed that the mother eventually walked away from Molly and would not feed her milk. Molly quickly became very weak and was rushed to the Cumming's School Large Animal Center.
After a full physical exam on Molly, it was determined that she was suffering from dehydration and had a low white blood cell count.
She will stay over the weekend, and if all goes well she will return to the zoo on Monday.
Boston Globe reporter Michael Levenson has more details from the Globe newsroom.
