| July 9, 2009 Broadside: Jackson controversy not over yet
|
(NECN: Jim Braude) - Who would have thought this moment from Michael Jackson’s memorial service would be controversial.
Many people were touched by daughter Paris’s expression of love for her dad.
Others were offended. That's right. Offended.
They saw it as forced. A little girl thrust in the spotlight by a manipulating family.
Sadly, Jackson’s children are just beginning to experience the fallout from his death.
Consider this: We don't even know for sure who the father is.
We --do-- know that Debbie Rowe, the mother of the oldest children, claims to want custody.
Which makes it all the more telling that she wasn't at the memorial service.
She’s clearly feeling the heat of the moment.
And hanging over everything is the mystery of how Jackson died.
Bottom line: You're going to be seeing the "developing story" tag on this one for a long, long time.
