| July 9, 2009 Trash turned into treasured art!
|
(NECN) - As the age-old saying goes: "One man's trash is another man's treasure," or, in this case, art.
Jane Winchell, the Sarah Fraser Robbins Director of the Museum's Art and Nature Center, shares more about the Peabody Essex Museum's latest exhibits: "Trash Menagerie."
All of the works of art included in this exhibit are made out of recycled materials, or trash.
"It was actually a lot of fun just researching the topic," Robbins said. "You become aware of how many artists are doing creative things with materials that the rest of us just decide, well, maybe it's worthy of the recycling bin, but most of it ends up in the trash."
Included in the exhibit are all sorts of animals, from rabbits to dogs to bugs.
