(NECN) - Boston's Franklin Park Zoo may have to close its doors and euthanize some of its animals.
That's according to the Boston Globe.
State budget cuts may force the move.
Governor Patrick cut state funding to the zoo by 2/3 this year.
Zoo officials say at this rate they will run out of funds this fall and will have to close the Franklin Park and its smaller counterpart, Stone Zoo in Stoneham, Mass.
The zoo employees 165 people and has more than 1-thousand animals.
