(NECN: Jay Carr) - Director Spike Jonze brings the children's classic to the big screen.
While this is based on a children's book, it is hardly a film exclusively for children. Adults will find value in it, as well.
The setting is not as "jungle" looking as in the book's illustrations, but the creatures are reproduced in a most faithful manner.
The film is a little too long, as the story sags noticeably at times. For really young ages, it may be too long to keep one's attention span.
