| August 1, 2008 Bay State 'barefooters' almost walk on water
|
(Katie Daly, NECN: Charlton, MA) - A group of water skiers has longevity on their side. They've been zooming across the water for 20 years, but they do it a little differently.
All is quiet on Buffumville lake in Charlton, until the Bay State Barefooters show up. Hitting the water with their impressive moves not quite walking on water, but pretty close.
"I think its he best thing in the world, if you have any stress in your life it's a great stress reliever."
John Bartkus is the club's president. He started barefooting 30 years ago when he wanted to see what it was like to toss away the skis.
This may look like a lot of fun from shore...and the skiers say that it is...but it takes a lot of dedication, these guys are typically out on the water before most people head to work.
