(NECN) – This week on Good Morning Live is Wedding Week. In this segment we discuss new trends for bridesmaids dresses. Ask yourself this, how many have you had to buy? How many have you liked? And how many have you worn more than once? Chances are the answers are many, few and none
That could change if you listen to the advice of Jeanne Hennessey, owner of Lorraine Roy fine apparel.
People cringe at the thought of bridesmaids’ dresses. But the trend is to find dresses that women can wear again.
Here are five examples of bridesmaid dress trends for 2008.
1. Black - black is always good. Looks good on everyone and can be worn again, looks really great with a tuxedo in photos.
2. Color blocking. One really vivid color on bottom mixed with another on top
- 2 really distinct colors
3. Tea-length dresses are the newest trend - not too many longs dresses any more. These girls want to have fun and dance.
4. Ruching- Bridesmaids come in all shapes and sizes. Ruching, or gathering of material, tends to make everyone look slim in all the right spots.
5. Customizing your dress with color. Add a sash in the wedding colors that match the flowers and the theme of the whole wedding.
