|
(Danica Pecirep, NECN: Worcester, MA) - Some youngsters spent the week in summer camp. They didn't swim in a lake or toast marshmallows around a campfire. They were at Assumption College, making some beautiful music.
Playing the pipe organ is their passion, that's why these teens spent the week sharpening their skills. "The organ is an incredible instrument -its got a range of colors and dynamics- there is so much to be taken from it."
This year 42 students from around the United States came to the Pipe Organ Encounter at Assumption College - and while they're still learning- they're instructors says many of them show promise.
Teens from 13 and 18 are in the camp and they're experience varies.. Some like seventeen year old Thomas George are relative beginners, but all say the week has taught them a lot.
