| July 11, 2008 First lady of France hits new high note
|
(NECN/ABC) - The first lady of France has released a new record. It's actually Carla Bruni's third album, but her first since a whirlwind romance and high-profile marriage to French President Nicolas Sarkozy. So far, it's received good reviews -- but some of the lyrics are quite shocking.
Bruni says President Sarkozy is an inspiration. She did write certain lyrics before they were together, but now that she is France's first lady, they carry a somewhat different tune.
"You are my dope, deadlier than the Afghan heroin."
It's not the kind of association critics of the couple will applaud. Sarkozy has been accused of focusing too much on a glamorous life with his sexy wife and too little on affairs of the state.
Of the two, Carla is the one known for wowing the crowds on and off the catwalk.
ABC's Gloria Riviera reports.
