| August 2, 2008 NECN pedal partner Caroline, at the PMC kickoff
|
(NECN: Sturbridge, MA) - The PMC route from Sturbridge, to Provincetown, will be crammed with cyclists bearing jerseys of every color and stripe. Among them you will find Team NECN.
They will ride the nearly 200 miles in the name of one special little girl.
At the age of 7, Caroline Lane was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, cancer of the bone. There are about 900 new cases in the United States each year -- about 400 patients will be children and about 1/3 of the 900 will die.
For several months Caroline was nearly completely immobilized, trapped in a hospital bed. Now, Caroline is in remission and just celebrated one year of being cancer free.
Caroline thanks her family and those at the Jimmy Fund for helping her get through the treatments. It will be Caorline that helps Team NECN get to the end of the Pan Mass Challenge.
