(NECN/ABC) - Britney Spears will reprise her role as Abby on the sitcom "How I I Met Your Mother." Her previous turn on the show brought high ratings and good reviews. The pop star is set to shoot her new scenes later this week.

Angela Bassett is being admitted to the "ER", the TV show that is. The Oscar nominated actress will play an attending doctor with a difficult past in the 15th and final season of the series.

Hilary Duff is reportedly in talks to join the cast of a spinoff of the "Beverly Hill 90210" series. The singer and former "Lizzie McGuire" actress would play one of the lead roles on the series which is said to be an updated version of the original show which ran for 10-years.

Coldplay is promoting its new album with free concerts in London and New York and a freedown of the first single. Fans can download "Violet Hill" from the band's website for one week starting today. The full album will be released June 12th.
