| August 2, 2008 PMC Kickoff: Team Trooper Tested
|
(NECN: Sturbridge, MA) - They've battled cancer themselves, they've lost fellow officers to cancer, and they have children fighting the disease. Together they ride for a cure.
Team Trooper Tested is the first Massachusetts State Police team in PMC history. State Police Capt. Tom Grenham rode his first PMC in 2007 in honor of his young daughter Shannon, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. On the ride, he met Trooper Tom Mahon, and from that meeting was born Team Trooper Tested.
This year there will be 38 troopers from every level of police work riding the 192 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown, and at the PMC kickoff, riders got to meet the troopers, and the young girl who inspired it all.
