(NECN) - Stocks are up, but not enough to wipe out yesterday's losses.
The Dow Jones industrial average gained 270 points -- more than three percent -- to close at 8,419.
The Nasdaq composite was up more than 51 points -- also more than three percent -- to end the day at 1,449.
The S-&-P 500 rose 32 points on the day, to close at 848.
Regionally -- Bloomberg’s New England index was up more than nine.
The New England tech stock index gained almost two.
