3 Massachusetts cities opt for green water

(NECN) - Boston restaurants and other businesses say they are going back to tap water.

13 communities nationwide have now joined the movement to stop buying bottled water for public buildings and look to tap water instead. Boston, Somerville and Cambridge, Massachusetts have become the latest editions. They are the only cities in New England to do so.

The Other Side Café in Boston became one of six Greater Boston restaurants to stop serving bottled water. For the Cafe's owner it was a no-brainer environmental decision.

The campaign is run by Corporate Accountability International has won over some city governments. They will ditch bottled water delivery contracts for public buildings and events. They argue, it is costing taxpayers millions.
