(Katie Daly, NECN: Worcester, MA) - It is time to shop until you drop. A sales tax holiday this weekend in Massachusetts, and shoppers are looking to save big bucks.
Shoppers aren't wasting any time. Bob Federici, and his wife are trying out some 150 recliner chairs at Rotmans in Worcester.... They're in search for the most comfortable...so that tomorrow they can come back and take advantage of Massachusetts' fifth annual sales tax holiday this weekend.
With a 5 percent tax break over the next two days, Rotmans is gearing up for a big crowd.
Bernie Rotman is vice president of the store. He's extended business hours this weekend and has been strategically planning on how to handle the influx of customers for weeks.
The 5 percent tax break applies to most items , but there are a few exceptions. Customers wont get to save on meals, tobacco, car, boats or anything over $2,500.
