| November 15, 2008 Iran: Cut production for higher oil prices
|
(NECN) - Iran called on OPEC on Saturday to cut oil production by up to an additional 1.5 million barrels per day.
OPEC produces about 40-percent of the world's crude oil and decided to cut production down by 1.5 million barrels in October, responding to falling oil prices.
Oil prices have dropped by more than half, since hitting a record high in July.
OPEC officials will meet Cairo later this month.
