(NECN: Washington) - President Bush is pleading anew for a quick passage of a plan to rescue troubled financial markets. He issued a brief statement this morning from the White House.
Bush cited disagreements on details of the rescue plan, but said everyone agrees that action is needed now.
The chairman of the House Financial Services
Committee says the fate of a federal rescue plan for the financial
industry depends on House Republicans dropping their revolt against
President Bush. Congressman Barney Frank says Democratic lawmakers
were shocked at the divisiveness on display at yesterday's White
House summit.
