Jets.com is a web service which enables busy executives, celebrities and government types to hire private jets. State your destination and the companies which own the aircraft compete, auction-style to give you the lowest price. The service provides safety stats on each plan and pilot. The site shows 360 degree views of interiors and details amenities like satellite TVs and fold out tables and beds.

What's better than going to the Super Bowl?
Going to the Super Bowl on a private jet.
And Quincy, Mass-based jets-dot-com is hosting a red-carpet reception at the Phoenix airport.
An executive lounge will display wide-screen TVs...
And they'll serve cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
"So the party starts the minute you step off the plane? Step off, or before you get on. Hahaha."
Limos will then whisk people to
and from the game.
"With this level of clientele it's expected."
Jets.com is a web service...which enables busy executives, celebrities, and government types to hire private jets.
State your destination...and the companies that own the aircraft compete, auction-style, to give you the lowest price.
The service provides safety stats on each plane and pilot.
"It’s almost like a rating system like eBay, an auction like Priceline." (092132)
The site shows three hundred sixty degree views of interiors, and details amenities...
Like satellite TV... Wireless Internet… and fold out tables.
"He thinks he's going to win."
Many planes come with beds -- some with a cabin attendant.
"My favorite feature are the chairs that swivel -- almost like a carnival ride and three hundred sixty degrees and yeah -- I could get used to this."
"It’s kind of like sitting in a living room."
The planes are pricey -- from about $2000 to $7000 an hour.
But jets.com CEO Nathan McKelvey argues private jets can allow busy people to visit many cities... especially more remote ones -- in the same day. For execs -- time is money.
"Especially an executive that can get million dollar deals done from one city to the next it makes a lot of financial sense."
Using seven hundred jet operators, the system optimizes the use of idle planes.
It helps eliminate one-way trips without passengers.
"By making more efficient use of the aircraft it lowers the cost overall."
The site impressed PC Magazine so much it gave jets.com the grand prize for most technologically-innovative small business.
Last year the company doubled its sales to nearly fifty million dollars. It was recently ranked the fifteenth fastest growing company in New England.
"We’re very good at what we do."
Private jets have been criticized for polluting more per-passenger.
But jets.com now lets customers offset their carbon emissions by paying extra to a fund, which plants trees that create more oxygen.
"It’s a lot like eating a cake one night, and running it off the next day."
Now if it can only help Super Bowl passengers offset the food and drink they'll consume at the big party. Mont Fennel, NECN.
