(NECN) - A wild ride on Wall Street ends with big gains for the major indexes.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average leaps nearly 303 points, to close at 11,734. For the week, the Dow gains 3.6 percent. The Nasdaq Composite is up more than 58, closing at 2,414, up about 4.5 percent this week. The S&P 500 gains 30 and a quarter points, ending the day at 1,296. For the week, that's a 2.8 percent gain.

Regionally, Bloomberg's New England Index is up 10.75. The New England Tech Stock Index gains 2.25.
