(Josh McElveen, NECN: New Bedford, Mass.) - Massachusetts is holding Workers Memorial day Tuesday to honor those who lost their lives while on the job.

In 2007 more workers in Massachusetts died because of job related activity than any year since 2003. Many believe those deaths could have been prevented.

Most of the fatalities can be contributed to workers who are being pressed for rapid production, because businesses are understaffed.
