| January 6, 2009 Tufts Medical Center to drop some Blue Cross members
|
(NECN) - Tufts Medical Center, in Boston, is threatening to stop accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO coverage* for many of its services starting February 1st.
That's unless the insurance company agrees to pay Tufts doctors more.
The hospital claims its doctors are paid 20 to 40 % less than doctors at comparable hospitals.
Blue Cross says it's offered to pay fees similar to what other hospitals get, but that Tufts wants a much higher increase.
