A second look at a popular medical procedure.
Millions have had Lasik surgery to see without glasses. Yet some patients report they've seen nothing but trouble.
Perfect vision. In the blink of an eye.
It's a promise that has delivered for about 95 per cent of Lasik patients.
But what about the other 5 percent who end up with damaged vision.
Double vision. Night-blindness. Starbursts. Halos.
That's what life looks like for artist Barbara Berney.

Berney's not alone.

Now more than a decade after approving the procedure, the FDA is
preparing a nationwide study to see how patients are doing post-surgery.
Doctor Roy Rubenfeld, who has done thousands of Lasik operations, insists
complications are rare.

He says anyone considering the procedure. Should know the risks.
but even the best preparation can't completely rule out all complications.
