(Stephen Iandoli, NECN: Boston Mass.) - Health officials in Massachusetts are joining federal investigators who are looking into an increase in child fatalities linked to the flu.
They're reportedly looking into a possible link between two recent childhood flu deaths and the deadly staph infection known as MRSA.
Between 2006 and 2007, 74 children died from the flu across the country. 22 of them also had Staph infections, including MRSA.
Next flu season federal officials plan to monitor patients for signs of the flu and the infection.
NECN's Stephen Iandoli has more.
