(John Moroney, NECN: Newton, Mass.) - New research from Boston University shows that smoking bans are doing more than just changing the atmosphere at restaurants and bars.
They are also helping to discourage teens from picking up the habit in the first place.
A new study has found that teenagers who lived in communities with early smoking bans are 40% less likely to start smoking as teenagers who grew up in communities with no smoking bans.
NECN's John Moroney has details.
