| December 13, 2008 Power outage strands people on Ferris wheel in CA

(NECN/KTTV) - Power was knocked out at the amusement park on the Santa Monica Pier Friday trapping a number of people on the popular Ferris wheel.
The following clips are courtesy of KTTV.
For about 20 minutes, the usually brightly lit and bustling Pacific Park was lights-out.
The large Ferris wheel was stopped and workers used a hand crank to get people off of the ride.
Power was also knocked out to hotels and business around the pier.
Within about 20 minutes power was restored to the area and the rides at the amusement park started up again.
It is not know what caused the power outage.
There are no reports of injuries because of the power outage.
