MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A surgeon, nurse and pilot are dead after a
University of Wisconsin Hospital Med Flight helicopter crashed last
night shortly after dropping off a patient in La Crosse.
Investigators are still looking into the cause, but the director
of Med Flight told reporters the weather was not a concern when it
took off last night.
An official with UW Hospital says the helicopter had just
dropped off a patient and was returning to Madison when the crash
occurred.
The wreckage was found early Sunday.
Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz says he knew
Doctor Darren Bean, one of the victims, who was "quite excited"
about his work teaching people how to revive heart attack victims.
He says the victims will be missed by the community.
