| July 21, 2008 Attorney: Mom of missing toddler wants to cooperate
|
(NECN: Orange County, Florida) - The attorney for the mother of a missing toddler held a news conference Monday morning. Jose Baez says his client, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, wants to cooperate and will assist in any way possible to find two-year-old Caylee Anthony.
The grandmother of Caylee said Monday her daughter knows who has the toddler.
Speaking on NBC's "Today Show", Cindy Anthony said her
daughter Casey - who was arrested last week and charged with child
neglect and criminal obstruction for lying to detectives - should
be released from jail so she can help with the investigation into
the disappearance of Caylee Marie Anthony.
"I know Casey knows who has her," Cindy Anthony told NBC. "I
know Casey doesn't know where they're at right at the moment. But I
don't know anything else right now because I can't speak to my
daughter. And we're trying to get that changed very quickly."

Casey Anthony, 22, reported her daughter Caylee Marie Anthony
missing last week. The little girl's grandmother says Caylee was
last seen June 9. Authorities say the child's mother has repeatedly
lied to investigators and showed little emotion during interviews
about her daughter's whereabouts.
