(NECN/ABC) - At least 13 people were killed and dozens more injured early Friday when a charter bus ran off a highway in Sherman, Texas.
The bus was heading north on U.S. 75 when it went off the highway and crashed, ending up on its side on the access road below.
At least 12 people were dead at the crash site, another person died at a Dallas hospital.
The bus was carrying members of a Vietnamese church from Houston on a pilgrimage to Missouri. About two-dozen of them are being treated at area hospitals.
Northbound traffic was shut down on the highway as ambulances and helicopters ferried victims to hospitals.
The driver survived the crash and may be able to shed some light on what happened before the crash. Investigators say it does not appear alcohol was a factor and that the bus may have had a blowout.
