| February 22, 2008 Baby makes miraculous recovery after drowning in pool
|
(NECN/ABC) - In southern California he's being called "The Miracle Baby" - an infant who made an amazing recovery after he apparently drowned in a backyard swimming pool.
For mailman Marcus Ross, the day started out like any other, but he says it ended with a miracle. And that's the only reason this little boy is alive.
Ross: "Basically, I was in the right place at the right time" -- when he heard a call for help.
Ross: "He was just laying there, foam out of the mouth and his nose, he was turning blue. I knew there was nothing there."
For several minutes, Ross did all he could. Michael was then rushed to Montclair Hospital Medical Center, but it didn't look good. The baby's mom, Maria, says for two hours the baby was not breathing. Then, everything changed.
Doctors smiled and the baby was alive -- doctors were baffled as to how this happened.
ABC reporter Rob McMillan has the details.
