| September 5, 2008 Casey Anthony posts bond, again
|
(NECN/WFTV) - Casey Anthony is about to be a free woman, again. High-profile bounty hunter Leonard Padilla initially posted the bond that freed Anthony before she was re-arrested on charges related to uttering a forged check. This time around, Casey's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, provided part of the $50,000 needed to secure Casey's $500,000 bail on a child neglect charge.
According to this statement, an anonymous individual believing "Ms. Anthony's constitutional rights have been greatly violated," provided the rest of the money.
At least three bond companies were involved: Joe Von Waldner Bail Bonds in Orlando, Florida; Miller Bail Bonds and McDonald Bail Bonds, both of Kissimmee.
Her daughter, 3-year-old Caylee Anthony, was reported missing in
mid-July from Orlando. The girl hadn't been seen for a month before
Anthony told authorities.
Detectives have said Anthony's trunk had contained a decomposing
body and that it was likely her daughter's. However, no other
charges have been filed against Anthony.
Melonie Holt reports.
