(NECN: South Padre Island, Texas) - Hurricane warnings remain in effect from Brownsville to Corpus Christi, Texas Wednesday as a lady named Dolly made her way on shore.
Hurricane Dolly carried winds of about 85 mph Wednesday morning as she headed in from the Gulf of Mexico.
Thousands of people lost power as the storm intensified and came closer to land. Minor damage was also reported in areas like South Padre Island.
National Guard troops and emergency crews have been mobilized and disaster areas have already been declared in 14 South Texas counties.
