Pie throwing leads to suspension at Brown University

(NECN) - A Brown University student has been suspended for the fall semester for hitting a New York Times columnist with a pie during an Earth Day speech last month.

Margaree Little and another person threw green cream pies at Thomas Friedman because of what Little says is a disagreement over Friedman's environmental views.

She claims his support of bio-fuels reduces the availability of food and displaces people in developing nations.

Little refused to identify the other person involved.
