(NECN: South Padre Island, Texas) - Winds and driving rain from Hurricane Dolly blew into South Texas as the area prepares for possible flooding.
Dolly strengthened overnight, with maximum sustained winds Wednesday morning of 85 mph.
The heavy surf didn't stop some people from trying to take a dip during a hurricane.
Residents were warned about possible rainfall up to 15 inches and storm surge flooding.
