(NECN: Palm Bay, Fla.) - Patrol officers are currently searching for a suspect in connection with the arson investigation in the Palm Bay, Florida area.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. officers approached a suspicious person in the area of 595 Breakwater Street.
The suspect was seen wandering in a backyard and when officers attempted contact, he fled.
The suspect is described as a white male, sandy blonde hair, thin build, approximately 6 ft tall wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt.
A reverse 911 is being sent to the residents within the area.
Detectives have a possible identification and are actively searching.

Wildfires have gutted at least 40 homes along the state's Atlantic coast.
The fires reported in Brevard County have burned roughly 10,000 acres - or more than 15 square miles.
