(NECN) - Police say a prisoner in Texas had been shedding pounds for months, not for health but so that he could escape jail.
Officers say the inmate, Darryl Layne Norris, who was serving time for a murder case, escaped on Saturday morning by climbing through an air conditioner vent less than one foot wide.
Norris is described as a white male with reddish-blond hair and hazel eyes. He is six fee tall, medium build and weighs around 160 pounds.
