April 2, 2008 2 young cousins die snowmobiling in Ossipee, NH Play video

(NECN: Ossipee, NH) - 2 young cousins died while snowmobiling in Ossipee, New Hampshire Tuesday night.

Raymond Eldridge, age 18, and Hunter Streeter, age 8, were riding together when their snowmobile slid off a trail and hit some trees Tuesday night.

A full investigation into the crash is underway. Officials do say that neither child had a helmet on and that speed was likely a factor. Conditions were also probably partly to blame - this time of year, the trail is extremely icy.

The trail is one of the most popular in the state, but since it is late in the season, conditions are quickly deteriorating.
