Fire forces 20 NH students from dorm

PLYMOUTH, N.H. (AP) - An early morning fire in a bathroom trash can forced about 20 New Hampshire college students out of their dormitory and into the cold.

The fire was reported around 3 a.m. on Tuesday at the Grafton Residence Hall at Plymouth State University. Fire fighters found heavy smoke on the third floor coming from a trash can fire in the women's bathroom. The +crew easily extinguished the fire and the bathroom was not damaged.

The students were moved to a nearby dormitory and were allowed to return to the building at 4:15 a.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
