| December 5, 2008 Brockton unveils 'green' school
|
(Prat Thakkar, NECN) - Students in Brockton, Massachusetts will soon be learning more about how to reduce global warming.
The city unveiled its first 'green' school on Sunday, featuring things like energy-efficient solar panels and lights that shut off automatically. Skylights allow natural light to enter the room, setting off the room lights, which dim relative to natural daylight.
This school came in under budget, and under schedule.
Named after Mary E. Baker, the elementary school is the first in Brockton to be named after a woman and a minority.
NECN's Prat Thakkar has the story in the video player above.
